Orb Pendants and Orb Chandeliers were our inspiration for this month's lighting feature. After visiting the Las Vegas World Market in the summer, we noticed that some of this year’s fall trends were inspired by 1800 and 1900 century materials and designs! We were excited to see textured irons, rustic metals, and natural unfinished woods used. Influences from gyroscopes, celestial forms, and open globe workings were definitely the fore runners in design. Also contemporary details were adopted to help refine these old forms for modern day use.
The collaboration of materials, dark finishes, design and function have produced an array of sophisticated and rustic orb pendants and orb chandeliers! We are excited to show you our selection of orb pendants and orb chandeliers that follow this year’s fall trends. Choose an orb pendant to fly solo over a curved table or have multiple orb pendants that will create a conversational piece day or night over your kitchen island. And an orb chandelier will definitely make a dramatic statement over any dining room table!
Uttermost Lighting, Trofarello | 21918 is a 1 light pendant design that demands your attention to its detail. Its orbital influence is created with smooth-like oil rubbed bronze metal strips and if you look closely on the inside of the metal workings you will notice its crackled finish that mimics its spherical bulb. This orb pendant is great for flying solo over a round shaped table. If you decide to install in multiples the long cord lengths will allow you to create a real statement over a kitchen island.
Quoizel Lighting, Barstow | BRW2824IN this 2 light large orb pendant is a unique fusion of contemporary and old world materials. Its cylinder white glass shade is delicately encompassed by steel rings that create an orb shape. Quoizel’s Iron Gate finish transforms old world materials to a modern day look with its surface detailing. With the Barstow orb pendant you be sure to have a fresh look from every angle!
Kichler Lighting, Dover | 2531TZ 3 Light Pendant will be a great addition to your entry way or to light up your foyer. We wanted to include Kichler's Dover pendant because it conveys an orbital characteristic. The workmanship of metal forms an elegant rain drop shape that tapers to the top of the fixture and drops below seamlessly to bring your eye to its powerful light source. Candlestick luminaries and a speckled tannery bronze finish definitely plays on traditional qualities while still maintaining its contemporary design. This 3 light orb pendant will illuminate any dark area for you.
Currey and Company Axel | 4 Light Chandelier 9015 is a large orb chandelier where its sophistication of design and materials can deceive many. We were able to see this lovely orb chandelier at the Las Vegas World Market this past summer. With its strong orbital wrought iron structure, the chestnut stain slated wood materials bring this rustic orb chandelier to the modern world. Curved arms hold traditional candlestick sleeves to help illuminate through the orbital frame. This orb chandelier is a perfect solution for your dining room that needs a punch of drama and sophisticated details.
Troy Lighting, Flatiron | F2518WI 12 Light Chandelier uses weathered flatiron strips and filament glass bulbs to create an orb chandelier for a modern day lifestyle. This fall we see a lot of retro style fixtures that are refined and updated. Make no mistake that Troy Lighting has designed an orb chandelier with old warm charm and celestial details to fit into your home.
Crystorama Lighting, Solaris | 9228-EB 6 Light Chandelier. With inspirations from Nineteenth-century gyroscopes and contemporary design these two elements mesh together to create the perfect Solaris orb chandelier. We enjoy the playfulness of the spherical bulbs and delicate round lead crystal detail. Not only does this design create a nice luminance, but it also makes a great conversational piece in almost any space.
