Contemporary Pendants | Beso & Urban Renewal Collections by Feiss

Feiss Lighting | Beso & Urban Renewal Pendants

New editions to the FEISS line were their Urban Renewal Pendants and Beso Pendants. We were excited to see all of their fresh designs along with their new logo at the Dallas Market this past January. The use of wire guards, industrial like metals, exposed bulbs, and bulbous glass shapes were definitely materials used to create their Urban Renewal Collection. It was interesting to see how well these materials were put to use in a number of combinations that would allow the consumer to pick and choose a style of pendant they wanted. We think it’s a great approach to bringing an urban aesthitic from the outdoors and into our homes. We love the idea of incorporating these urban pendants with rustic decor or contemporary spaces.

We also got a chance to see the Beso Collection up-close and personal. What a bold statement these pendants were! Their sleek and simple design definitely demanded our attention in the showroom. The Beso pendants seem to have an appeal of a silhouette when lighted and when turned off, had a character of its own. We could definitely see these pendants incorporated in almost any décor. So if you decide to have the Beso pendant installed in multiples or standing alone, it will certainly make a great conversational piece in your home.

Checkout these favorite picks below. The lights behind the new logo! Designer's Favorites: Urban Renewal Collection or Beso Collection by FEISS.

Color of The Year for 2012 | Tangerine Tango by Pantone

Introducing…Color of the Year for 2012, Tangerine Tango!

Not only is color important to fashion designers, but color is also important in our surroundings. Color can create a mood, it shows up in trends and color can make a statement when used in a creative way. With that said Pantone has introduced Tangerine Tango color of the year for 2012.

What we think about it?

Tangerine Tango is a color with sultry vibes and we think it’s a color that will definitely get the attention of your guests. It’s also a color that will energize a room. And the idea of adding pops of color with lighting is a great way to include Tangerine Tango into your home. We love the idea that you can add pops of color without committing to larger pieces in your home. Table lamps (portables) are a great way to interject color without overpowering your space. Contemporary styled pendants and wall fixtures are also another fabulous way to add Tangerine Tango to your decor without having it read outlandish. A Red-Orange hue tends to be a strong and a vibrant color, so it’s best that you introduce Tangerine Tango into your home and not have it take over your home. However, if you love diving into trends, try painting an accent wall in your living room with Pantone’s Tangerine Tango color. Remodeling your kitchen? Try highlighting features in your contemporary kitchen, like the island counter or bar seating with Tangerine Tango for a look that will be an attention-getter.

Kit or Custom?

The first question in considering monorail, is whether your room can use a basic system or if it needs something more. A kit is perfect if:

  • Your ceiling is only 8-10’ high
  • Your ceiling is level and not sloped
  • You want to add no more than six 50W or eight 35W pendant or spotlight elements
  • Your ceiling box is located where you plan to install the system, so you don’t require a remote transformer
  • If you could not check off all four items, you will likely need to select your individual components as shown on the next page. Our “System Planning/Ordering Guide” on the page after that will guide you in planning a system for sloped ceilings, or using remote transformers, or for longer and more complex design options.
